Kingsley Brown, Sr. started this company during the Depression in 1933. He believed in providing a quality product, with fast dependable service, at a fair price. Mr. Brown, Sr. was knowledgeable in the trade, and represented only those products that met his standards of price and quality. As business grew, it was necessary to constantly increase inventory and to assure a continuous source of supply to meet customers' needs.

To accomplish this, Brown Star's comprehensive warehouse was established. Today, we have 4 buildings covering approximately 15,000 sq. ft. to serve our customers needs. We are stocked with just about every type of abrasive, and related supply need. In 1999, the company was bought by a group of key employees which has ensured our continued ability to serve our customers far into the future. We are one of the largest stocking distributors devoted exclusively to bonded and coated abrasives in southeast Michigan. All Brown Star salespersons attend training seminars to keep up with the latest technology in the abrasives field, allowing for a quick response to the changing needs of industrial manufacturers.
